13 hours. That’s how long the flight lasted from Mexico City to Paris. We arrived so tired that we went directly to the Le Bristol Paris Hotel, a place which made my stay truly a dream come true with its concept, ambiance, location, and attention of the personnel who were truly enchanting.
I awoke rejuvenated and ready to tour the most popular tourist destination in the world. I ate breakfast with my friends in the Artisan Boulanger Patissier, a famous restaurant where they make and sell delicious cakes and pastries every day; and as it is located only a few blocks from the Eiffel Tower, we had a wonderful view. It was the start of a marvelous day!
My favorite part of the trip was visiting the Musée des Arts Décoratif to see the exposition Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams, which celebrates 70 years of the House of Dior along with his different creative directors. I invite you to read my first entry of this blog which is where I detail the wonderful experience.
Leaving the exposition at 7:00pm, we found ourselves in front of the famous restaurant Loulou. Located right in the heart of the Paláis du Louvre, its one-of-a-kind ambiance and food is a spectacular way to share company with close friends as you watch the Eiffel Town light up at night fall.
With no desire to sleep and full of desire to see each and every corner of the city, we adventured out at 11:00 at night and, in heels, got on the train that passes by the Arch of Triumph. I will admit that I was scared to death, but the desire to live the experience was stronger. It was the first time that we got on the metro in Paris, and after asking for directions, we arrived at the right station and bought our tickets. When we got to our destination, we got off the metro and there, illuminated and impressive, as well as crawling with people, was the Arch of Triumph.
Like good tourists and fashionists, we wanted to take excellent photos, but we had been told to take the underground tunnel since the police fine any people who cross the avenue, risking their lives to take the perfect picture. We came out just under the Arch, and after taking our photos and appreciating the beauty of this monument, we decided to go back and rest in order to get up early the next morning and continue visiting the famous tour destinations of Paris.
I should tell you that the most beautiful space to enjoy is the Champ de Mars. Its view of the Eiffel Tower and relaxing atmosphere make the perfect place to rest in the grass, enjoying a chic picnic, while you disconnect from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Outfit’s to enjoy Paris
At this time, you might be asking yourself, “What should I wear so I don’t look out of place?” Many people believe that for being a glamorous city, one must always dress elegantly or formally, but NO! The only thing you need to do is be stylish and comfortable.
I recommend that you pack your favorite shorts, ripped and tube jeans, a skirt, blouses, and basic shirts, a sweatshirt, a sweater, a blazer, and a coat in order to have variety. As always, leave those formal dresses for parties at night or a special dinner; one will be just fine. As far as shoes, bring 2-3 pairs of tennis (your favorite pair and a white pair), black heels, and a pair of boots will be good. Please don’t forget the denim. Try to bring it in at least one of your pieces.
Paris is a city with a lot of fashion in the streets (coolhunting). Personally, I opt for practical attire and natural makeup to explore the most famous places of Paris, always comfortable but adding that one accessory to give my outfit a lovely touch.
